TOPIC: UNUSUAL ACTS OF GOD: Restore Lost Hope (6)
MEMORY VERSE:
Ephesians 3:20.
"20. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us".
BIBLE READING:
John 11:35, 39-40, 43-44.
"35. Jesus wept."
"39. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days."
"40. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?"
"43. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth."
"44. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go."
Thinking Point:
Every Act of God restores lost hope and draws souls to God.
The act of God which will restore all losses and make men know God through us, will be released upon us in Jesus' mighty name.
In the book of Luke 7:12-15, was a story of a dead son of a widow who accidentally crossed paths with Jesus as He entered the city.
"12. Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her."
"13. And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not."
"14. And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise."
"15. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother."
Another benefit of the act of God is to restore what has been termed losses, bringing hopes back, giving a new start, a new beginning to whoever He visits. This widow was not supposed to follow her dead child to the grave side but what other option did she have than to see off her only son? While going with them, she came in contact with the Act of God that turns situation around. Jesus Christ changed her crying moment to a smiling moment and all that were with her feared God.
Likewise, Lazarus was dead four days ago, buried before Jesus' arrival, that was a permanent loss without any hope. His sister said he's been buried, Jesus said, "show me the location". There and there, He called the dead back to life, and the scripture said, "And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes:" dead hope was restored and souls were won to God according to the Bible which says,
"45. Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him. John 11:45.
When the act of God is revealed in our lives, it draws men to God, it may bring enmity also but souls will believe in God because of the act that surppases the wisdom and ability of men. I see God's act restoring your losses in Jesus' name, Amen. We are next in line.
