Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 51, Day 2, Monday, 16th December 2024 TOPIC: THE DECEIT OF THE DEVIL: Identifying Unwanted Visitors (2)
TOPIC: THE DECEIT OF THE DEVIL: Identifying Unwanted Visitors (2)
MEMORY VERSE:
1 Peter 5:8.
"8. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"
BIBLE READING:
Genesis 3:1.
"1. Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"
Thinking Point:
Sensitivity to who we allow into our space and what we discuss with them is a quality all believers must possess.
It is my heart's desire that our spiritual sensitivity will be at alert to identify who to mingle with this week in Jesus name, Amen.
As Individuals, we all have our circle, we know who we want in that space and who is not permitted to be in there. Likewise, in our spiritual lives, we should know and identify who is permitted to come into that space. Who should raise some discussion with us and to what level we can open up to them. Many marriages today are victim of wrong persons in their circle. Wrong friends in their space have caused damage beyond repair in their matrimonial home just like that of Adam and Eve.
The discussion that God had with humans was not supposed to be discussed between human and animal, (a subtle one for that matter) what a disgrace! When we don't value ourselves we allow wrong people to creep into our affairs and we pay dearly for it. The serpent was asking Eve, "Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" Imagine. The woman gave the devil a welcome seat so it could speak comfortably without any fear. Some bad thoughts, defeat thoughts or bitterness have been given space in our heart Some allowed others to discuss about our spouse. We open up every detail, both the good and bad side of our spouse to an outsider. With sympathy they discussed it with someone else who wasn't happy about your marriage and thereafter came unforseen battles. Some use the information against you or your spouse and a peaceful house become a battlefield, it's my prayer this morning, that the Lord will deliver us all from every wrong person we've allowed into our space in Jesus Mighty name, Amen. Eve welcomed the serpent and revealed details of God's instructions with the serpent. Tomorrow, we shall speak more of her discussion with the serpent, a tool in the hand of the devil. Watch who you welcome Into your circle and what you discuss with them.
Good Morning and God bless you.
