Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 51, Day 3, Tuesday, 17th December 2024 TOPIC: THE DECEIT OF THE DEVIL: Instructions: Private and Public Information (3)

TOPIC: THE DECEIT OF THE DEVIL: Instructions: Private and Public Information (3)

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Peter 5:8.
"8. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 3:2-3.
"2. And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:"
"3. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die."

Thinking Point:
Every instructions contains what to do (act upon) and what to keep (personal secret). To differentiate them is the issue we all have.

A good day to everyone, every decision today shall work in our favour in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
When God gives an instruction it's always in two folds, He directs us on what we need to do which we can relate with people or discuss with other persons, and also gives us a secret which is meant for us alone to work with. Not every instruction of God given to us should be spread out, No, there's what is meant for others and what is meant for our consumption only. Let's start with this example, when God instructed Abraham to sacrifice Isaac to Him, did Abraham informed Sarah? Yes, but without the full details. He must have informed Sarah that God instructed him to make a sacrifice in a place but he never revealed what the sacrifice was, (that's Isaac). Abraham can't leave home with servants and his only son without letting his wife know where they were going. He delivered the instructions of God with wisdom without telling her what the sacrifice was. Most times, dreams died at the point of birth because we couldn't identify what to say and what to hold unto. We discuss as received, with someone who doesn't have the container to carry the dream so they killed it with their idea.

This was the case of Eve in our today's reading. It was known that she knew God's instructions about the tree at the middle of the garden. God instructed them not to touch nor eat, that was the needed information, but that they will die when they eat it was meant to be a secret to be kept (what they are not to reveal to anyone else but their secret), but the woman revealed all to serpent and that was the talking point of the devil. Brethren, we discussed yesterday that we should watch who is allowed into our space, also we need to know what to discuss with who is in our space. Like an adage in yoruba tribe which says, "Not All Cloth Need To Be Dried Under The Sun", it's not all information you deceminate to people, there's what people need to know and what they should have an idea of. Not all secret in your home should be expose to your friends, parents, colleague or even spiritual father except there are issue to be sorted out. Eve revealed every instructions given to them by God just at the first meeting with serpent. Are we able to separate between private instruction and public instructions? Do you spill out all information without keeping that which is meant to keep you from harm? It's time to know what to say and what not to say to your circles of friend, because they opened their mouth to say what's happening in their home isn't a reason to slip out the good, bad and ugly in your home and ministry. Learn to have a reservoir of information.
