Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 52, Day 1, Sunday, 22nd December 2024 TOPIC: THE DECEIT OF THE DEVIL: Regret Steps In (8)

TOPIC: THE DECEIT OF THE DEVIL: Regret Steps In (8)

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Peter 5:8.
"8. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 3:7.
"7. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons."

Thinking Point:
Consequence is the opposite of reward. For every mistake or disobedience there are consequences.

My prayer this morning is that, we shall not tread those steps that will end in regret in Jesus name, no matter how disguise the devil may come, we will not be his victim in Jesus’s mighty name, Amen.

When we derail from God's instructions, no matter how sealed our conscience, we feel this "Had I know" attitude, "What have I done?" "How could this happen?" This is the beginning of regret in one's life after going contrary to God's leading. All the paintings the devil made will be exposed to be fake. Those fantasies we long for are all gone, we then discovered "it wasn't the way we thought it will be". You see many divorcees saying, "Had I known it would be this way, I wouldn't have tread this path", "I wish I never listened to that advice, I should have stayed and fought for my marriage". This morning, I pray with everyone, it will not be too late for each and everyone of us before we trace our steps back from the wrong journey in Jesus' mighty name, amen.

What the devil does is work on our mind, fill it with thoughts, painting it as the best that will be tasted, but they are all make-ups,they aren't real, as Eve, she will explain better. Eve and Adam's eyes were opened and they began to see what they weren't meant to see, they saw they were deceived out of God's purpose for their life. They began to regret, "had I known it would be this way, I wouldn't have eaten the fruit" but it was too late. May I direct the question to you my good followers, what is it that the Lord wants you to turn away from before it's too late? What is that attitude of yours that keeps taking you away from God's purpose? Who are those friends that are distracting you from the right path in your marriage, place of work, even in the ministry you are serving? It's time to stop that mingling and go back to God before regrets steps in. It's time to say "No" now before "No" will be useless. Eve knew better but it was too late, don't let it be too late for you, fight those thoughts now, resist those friends now, those friends out of marriage given you advice about marriage, you need to change your friends and advisers before you become like them. Don't be the second Eve in this generation. May we not regret when it's too late in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Consequences are real for every disobedience.

Good Morning and God bless you.
