Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 52, Day 2, Monday, 23rd December 2024 TOPIC: THE DECEIT OF THE DEVIL: Nakedness: Departure Of Glory (9)

TOPIC: THE DECEIT OF THE DEVIL: Nakedness: Departure Of Glory (9)

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Peter 5:8.
"8. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 3:7.
"7. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons."

Thinking Point:
Nakedness signifies the absence of God's Glory which leads to shame. May we not be put to shame in Jesus name, Amen.

Welcome to a new week with perfection of God's work in our lives in Jesus name, Amen.
Yesterday, we looked at one consequence of eating the forbidden fruit. We shall focus on another consequence today which is nakedness. What does it signify? Seeing one's weaknesses that were unknown. Shame means the departure of God's glory upon one's life. It is my prayer today, that we shall not be put to shame in any area of our lives in Jesus name, Amen. When one disobeys God's instructions there's a level of shame attached. When Samson revealed his secret to Delilah, he lost the glory of God and experienced shame in the hands of the Philistines, Judges 16.

Adam and Eve discovered they were naked, nothing dropped from them but the glory of God departed their lives when they ate the fruit. They became ashamed of themselves. Brethren, may I let you know this moment that, if not the glory of God upon us individually, shame would have been the news of the day, thank God for sending Jesus to save us. What is that attitude of yours that God has been warning you about but seems too hard for you to let go? It's time to think about it and yield to God's instructions. When nakedness comes nowhere to hide before God only God can cover their shame because it will be unbearable, it is my prayer that we will not know shame, may we not experience it in our lives in Jesus Name, but we need to avoid disobeying God's instructions and do His will always.
