TOPIC: QUALITIES OF KING SOLOMON: Action After A Dream (11)
MEMORY VERSE:
2 Samuel 12:24
And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: AND THE LORD LOVED HIM.
BIBLE READING:
1 Kings 3:15.
"15. And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
Thinking Point:
No matter the nightmare, your action about it matters a lot. God does speak through dreams and the devil does too.
May the Lord make today a glorious day filled with Him mercy in all our endeavours in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.
Everyone has nightmares, both young and old, that look scary. Some wake up and can't continue their sleep while some have a nonchalant attitude to dreams. Dream always have meaning and can be categorized into three sources,
"1. Dream from God,
"2. From demonic world, and lastly,
"3. From our daily activities as a result of stress.
Whatever the source of every dream they all have their meaning and must be taken seriously. After a dream what action do we take? Do you look away or pray about it? May I let you know that God does visit in dreams with vital instructions. Many get divine direction through dreams and many evil has been exposed through dreams, but what matters most is what we do after the dream.
King Solomon woke up and realized it was a dream. Looking at the dream, it looks positive, promising and desirable. Then what did he do? He went to worship the Lord in Jerusalem before the ark of God. Remember one of his qualities was presenting offerings in the right places, this he did again, giving burnt offerings for welcoming God in his dream. If it were you and I, wouldn't you go around and boast of the dream instead of speaking to God to perfect His promises? Will I see it as divine visitation? Nonchalant attitude has made many to lose God's given revelation through dreams. How serious are you about your dreams? Do you appreciate God for them, or if need be, pray about it? Do you start working towards those positive dreams or do you forget about them? Every word/promise of God needs our contribution to its fulfillment. When the dream seems negative how do you handle it? God finds it easier to speak to us when we are settled and relaxed, when we can't argue or resist His word but still, we wake up to discard all His instructions, it's time to be wise and treat every dream as Important. It's time to act on every dream either negative or positive. Solomon did the needful to make a burnt offering to the Lord who spoke to him as an appreciation.
