TOPIC: QUALITIES OF KING SOLOMON: Solomon Passed The Test (13)
MEMORY VERSE:
2 Samuel 12:24
And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: AND THE LORD LOVED HIM.
BIBLE READING:
1 Kings 3:23-27.
"23. Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living."
"24. And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king."
"25. And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other."
"26. Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it."
"27. Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof."
Thinking Point:
Nothing makes God happy about us than to pass His test. It proves our Obedience to Him.
As today marks the last working day of the week, may the Lord crown all our efforts with an outstanding result in Jesus' Name, Amen.
When God deposits His qualities in His child, we made it known yesterday, that He tested such a child to see if He is mature to handle the virtue. God was super proud when Abraham passed the test of sacrificing his only Son Isaac, that He had sworn by Himself to bless Abraham and make him multiply, Gen. 22:16-18. When Hannah passed the test of returning Samuel to Shiloh, God was so pleased to make him a vessel and blessed Hannah with other children, 1 Sam. 1-2. When Jesus was tested in the wilderness and he passed the test, angels were dispatched to attend to Him, Luke 4:1-11. It brings joy to God when we pass His test.
Solomon proved to God that the wisdom he requested was to be used to judge God's people rightly. He judged the case of the two Harlots wisely and gave the child to the rightful owner. If not by wisdom how will the case be judged? Are we making God happy with His deposits (entrusted values) in us?
