TOPIC: SECRETS TO SUCCEED IN LIFE: Opposition is Inevitable (20)
ONE YEAR BIBLE READING
Leviticus 6- 7
Mark 1: 1 - 20.
MEMORY VERSE:
Romans 8:30.
"30. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."
Bible Reading:
Exodus 5:1-2, 6-8.
"1. And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness."
"2. And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go."
"6. And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying,"
"7. Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves."
"8. And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God."
Thinking Point:
Get this right, kicking up with God's call does not guarantee easy success at the start. Expect rejection.
It is so sweet to be called by God. It brings gladness when you are sure He calls you and you are prepared for that mission. The other side of it is that what seems easy when spoken by God soon becomes a rock to be cracked with an egg. God showed you the end result but hides the occurrences in between, so you have to change that mentality of soft landing when going for God's assignment. As you journey with the assignment doubt begins to set in with questions like, "Am I sure God really sent me?" "Why the opposition if God is the one who called me?" Hear me Beloved, What God said hasn't changed nor did He lied, what He says is what He will do but he kept some information from you that can make you turn from going on that assignment. Those who promised may start turning you down. Things may seem tougher than when you were called, yes, His calling still stands and must be carried out.
The first time Moses and Aaron appeared before Pharaoh, their request was turned down, they were sent out of Pharaoh's presence and the Israelite labour was increased. Pharaoh inflicted more hardship on them. Disappointment and rejection took over in the midst of the Elders of Israel. It seems this idea of freedom came to add salt to their injury but still what God said still stands. Maybe you are faced with such presently, keep moving and keep going. Moses and Aaron performed all the miracles God showed them and went to Pharaoh's presence nine more times but was faced with rejection. Don't back down, keep going, focus on what God says, not on men's action and attitude. It won't be that easy. It seems nobody cares or sees you presently but one day, Pharaoh will send for you and let you go, in Jesus mighty name, Amen. Keep doing your best regardless of the rejection and God will keep proving Himself, don't just back off.
