Mobile Daily Devotional with Oluboye Emmanuel Week 9, Day 1, Sunday, 23rd February, 2025 TOPIC: TYPES OF GARMENT: Filthy Garment (1)
TOPIC: TYPES OF GARMENT: Filthy Garment (1)
ONE YEAR BIBLE READING: Leviticus 24, Mark 5:1-29
MEMORY VERSE:
Isaiah 61:3
"To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified."
BIBLE READING:
Zechariah 3:1-4
"1. And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him."
"2. And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?"
"3. Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel."
"4. And he answered and spoke unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment."
Thinking Point:
Garments define who we are, whether spiritual or physical, and they attract different things.
This week, we'll discuss and pray about garments, believing the Lord will hear our prayers. Many garments will be removed, consumed by fire, restored, or replaced with new ones in Jesus' name, Amen.
We're starting with filthy garments, which can be described as stained, attracting insult, reproach, and accusation. When someone wears this garment, either spiritually or physically, it hinders positive attractions and attracts negativity.
In our reading today, Joshua, the High Priest, stood with Satan, the accuser of the brethren. Why? Because his garment attracted rejection, failure, and disappointment, despite knowing God. I pray that heaven will arise concerning your case, and every filthy garment will be removed in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
Until God intervened, the High Priest's garment wasn't restored. God said, "Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment." Jesus died for all our iniquities, but we still reflect the filthy garment. Today, heaven is removing those garments from our lives in Jesus' mighty name.
Pray with me:
Father, remove every appearance of filthy garments from my life. Every garment synonymous with reproach and shame, Lord, take them away from my life in Jesus' name, Amen.
