TOPIC: UNITY AND ITS INGREDIENTS: Love (5)

One Year Bible Reading: 
Numbers 34 - 36, Mark 16: 21 - 47. 

MEMORY VERSE: 
Ps. 133:1-3
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! 
2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments.  
3 It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing - Life forevermore.

BIBLE READING:
Romans 13:8-10
"8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 
9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law."

Thinking Point:
Unity can't exist without Love. Love is the show of concern for one another in every relationship.

We look at the Fourth ingredient of Unity, Love. As we all know, God is Love, Love is God. Wherever love is lacking God is not in existence. Love is vital if unity will exist in any relationship. Some homes lacking unity are not based on love but lust, that's why divorce is so rampant even in Christianity. Where love is lacking, envy, backbiting, gossiping and every form of evil reigns and this will destroy unity. If you can't love, you can't walk in unity. All the commandment, from Old to New Testament is based on Love, so, if you can't love you are not obeying the law neither are you a friend to Jesus.  

According to 1 Corinth. 13:3-7,
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

To walk in unity, love is very essential because love forgives easily and keeps no record of wrongs. If there's any relationship not working around you, check yourself, do you really love your partners, co-workers, fellow servants in God's vineyard? Unity reigns where love rules. My prayer for us is to keep growing in the love of God daily in Jesus Precious Name, Amen.

Love your neighbour as yourself sums up the law.
