TOPIC: UNITY AND ITS INGREDIENTS: Speak The Truth In Love (6)

One Year Bible Reading: 
Deuteronomy 1 - 2, Mark 16: 1 - 20. 

MEMORY VERSE: 
Ps. 133:1-3
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! 
2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments.  
3 It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing - Life forevermore.

BIBLE READING:
Ephesians 4:15.
"15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ"

Thinking Point:
Speaking truthfully in Love is different from speaking truth harshly. The way you address people determines their response to the revealed truth.

The Fifth ingredient to be considered for unity to reign, is Speaking the Truth in Love. Speaking in truth to one another not minding the consequences. When this is one sided, unity can't reign in any relationship. Many speak the truth to prove they are better off. Some speak the truth to talk others down, and some speak the truth which they can't abide by either. To speak the truth in love is to speak what you do consistently. You should be an example of what you speak. 

Also, speaking in truth involves accepting the truth spoken by others. Who you don't listen to can't listen to you. When you refuse to hear the truth, they won't accept your truth either, so, speaking and accepting truth is a two edged sword. Where the truth is not welcome or accepted, unity can't be established.

Why do you speak truth to others, to correct or make them feel ashamed of themselves? To disgrace or encourage them? How you speak the truth matters a lot. Let the truth be spoken in Love not in envy or with pride.
