TOPIC: UNITY AND ITS INGREDIENTS: What Is Unity (1)

One Year Bible Reading: 
Numbers 24 - 26, Mark 14: 1 - 26. 

MEMORY VERSE: 
Ps. 133:1-3
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! 
2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments.  
3 It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing - Life forevermore.

3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?  

Thinking Point:
God created humans and a bond that locks them together called Unity. 

Unity is one important virtue that leads to peace amongst men. However, unity has been misunderstood by many and has caused confusion and destruction in relationships.

What is Unity?
Unity is not the absence of argument, conflict, or differences, but the presence of:
- Agreement
- Selflessness
- Commitment
- Togetherness
- Openness

Unity doesn't mean "I won" or "I'm the best," but "We won" and "We are the best." It can only be achieved when we see things as collective success and goals, not individualism.

Unity means expressing one's mind without bias, without hurting one another, and seeing through with better options. Unity in the church, marriage, workplace, community, amongst friends, and all forms of relationships is the road that leads to breakthrough. Lack of unity is the lack of success and progress in life.

"Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" Unity is based on agreement between parties. It's about dropping personal goals for collective goals or finding ways to co-host everyone's goals without hurt.

When your views are not accepted, how do you feel? When your plans are changed, do you still run with the general goal? Unity will not segregate; it is always supportive. God wants us unified to forge ahead in life.
