TOPIC: CAUSES OF DELAY: By Not Involving God (6)

One Year Bible Reading:
1 Samuel 3 - 7, Luke 17 : 1 -10.

MEMORY VERSE:?
Deuteronomy 1:6.
"6. The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:"

BIBLE READING:
Proverbs 3:5-7.
'5. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
"6. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
"7. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil."

Thinking Point:
Trusting in our ability without consulting God leads to delay and a waste of time and resources.

God is the ultimate in all we do. No matter what we know or have, without Him we are nothing. We may be working and walking around, enjoying affluence, without involving Him brethren, that may not be the fulfillment He ordained for us, we may be working someone else's calling or area leaving ours when we depend on our own understanding. Most time we put God side and take the lead which makes us go stray from Him, the Bible says in John 15 verse 5, I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: FOR WITHOUT ME YE CAN DO NOTHING.

"Ye can do nothing" doesn't mean you are not doing anything at all but without me you can't function where you belong. Without me you can think you're successful but achieve less than you are purposed to achieve in life. That's why many work but can't earn a living. Many gather wealth but lack peace of mind. Many have the wisdom, knowledge and affluence but make nothing meaningful out of it because it is without God, we depend on our own understanding.

In Luke 15, When the prodigal son left his father (God) with the wealth he accumulated, he was acting without God. He thought he had all he ever needed without God (Father). He was enjoying life by his understanding. Until the day he came back to his senses and realised he was without God (His Father) and rushed back to Him, that was the end of wasteful life. Those times were a season of delay in fulfilling God's purpose for his life, a season without God, a season with self understanding and knowledge. I pray today that God will open our eyes to see where we've been acting, walking and working without God in our lives in Jesus name, Amen.

Trusting in the Lord with all our being rescues us from wasteful life, a season of delay in God's purpose for our lives. Leaning on our understanding prolong our journey to God's plan for our lives, it's time to end the delay by seeking God's face to know what He wants us to do.
