TOPIC: TYPES OF MENTALITY: Cheating-Driven Mentality (5)

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 4:8.
"8. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

BIBLE READING:
1 Corinthians 6:8-10.
"8. Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren."
"9. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,"
"10. Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Thinking Point:
Depriving others what belongs to them isn't wisdom but a cheating mentality.

This week, we've been dealing with our mentality as believers. There are attitudes that shouldn't be seen in us as believers of Christ which we hold onto. These are what we've been digging out and I believe we are seeing ourselves in the mirror of these teachings. 

Today, we are studying the Cheating mentality, denying others what belongs to them. Forcefully claiming what is not ours. Making unnecessary requests before we perform our duty. It can be called Bribery, deception, fraud, dishonesty and so on. It's saddening to know that even men of God aren't left out in this area. Foreman deducting from laborers wages, contractors need to make settlement before getting jobs they bid for. Proofing smarter than your colleagues in the name of money and position. It's good to know that, cheating is cheating when you forcefully take or cut what belongs to someone else and God isn't happy with it.

Lot thought he was smarter than Abraham, his uncle. He chose the best place when Abraham gave him the opportunity to select where he desired but what ended it, regrets and losses, Genesis 13: 8-18. Everyone is afraid to go into partnership or any business with you and you called that integrity? You are joyful when others' resources fall into your hand and claim it's God's blessings, that's cheating. You know what, what we gain by cheating doesn't last or produce good fruits. Only what you work for genuinely has the blessings of the Lord. 

Have you ever asked yourself how you will feel if such was done to you? When your wages are denied, when your profit is cut off? When you miss an opportunity because someone wants to cheat on you? Have you considered how you will feel? It's time to think on this mentality and crave a new mentality that makes men and God happy. Cheating mentality doesn't makes us grow, it brings sorrow at the end of it all.
