TOPIC: LESSONS FROM HANNAH'S LIFE: Praise God After You Vow (17)

One Year Bible Reading: 
Judges 5 - 6, Luke 12 : 37 - 54.

MEMORY VERSE: 
Heb. 13:8
"8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

BIBLE READING: 
1 Samuel 2:1-2.
"1. And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation."
"2. There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God."

Thinking Point:
Don't end your vow when you pay, end it by Praising Him for answering you.

As we have all learnt about vow for the past two weeks, we've seen how Hannah handled vow and I believed many of us would have put this to test during the course of this lesson. It will be my pleasure to celebrate with you when those vows become realities. I assure you, it will end in testimony for you in Jesus name, Amen.

Yesterday, we saw how Hannah remitted her vow by dedicating the young Samuel to God under the care of Eli. But she didn't end it there, she went further to celebrate the God who heard her vow and granted her prayers. She praised the God who ended her mockery and gave her testimony. She celebrated the God who did what seems impossible for her. Mind you, she never vowed to give God praise but only Samuel, but she went a little further to give all praise to the God of all gods and sang a song that can't expire throughout generations. "There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God."

Don't end your vow just by paying what you vowed, go the extra mile to show how grateful you are and let others know what He did for you. When you refuse to show God gratitude after paying your vow, you're simply saying, you've given Him your all and nothing else to give God. Can you remember the joy of ending your shame? Do you remember your sleepless night, wetting your pillow with tears? How can you pay the vow and shut it up on Him? You need to show more appreciation above what you've vowed. Hannah did and was also rewarded. Don't stop by paying your vow, pay more than what you bargain for and God will never leave you the same.
