Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 19, Day 7, Saturday, 10th May 2025 TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: A Little More Persistent (7)

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: A Little More Persistent (7)

One Year Bible Reading:
1 King 4 - 6, John 5 : 1 - 30.

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 11:12.
"12. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 17:29-30.
"29. And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?"
"30. And he turned from him toward another, and spake after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner."
"31. And when the words were heard which David spake, they rehearsed them before Saul: and he sent for him."

Thinking Point:
Giving up so soon takes one back to zero level. The King is waiting for you, do not give up.

Most times when the degree for discouragement is high it's a sign of being close to one's manifestation. When the opposition seems to be gaining ground, when their words seem to be true and yours seem to be fake, when their points become more and more glaring that you are a failure, that's when you're closer to the last door of breaking through. When people you believe in tell you "it's over, just give up", your "No" is the last response to accessing the king's presence. At the edge of our breakthrough, may we not give-in to the voices of our enemy in Jesus name, Amen.

David's last response to his brother led him to the King's presence with a different reason. Remember, he worked as a part timer with the king as an instrumentalist. Now, he gained access to the king as a Goliath attacker. Listen to me, if we do not bow to the opposition they will surely bow to us some day. Remember Joseph never bowed to His brother's threat until they bowed to Him, Genesis 42:6. The three Hebrew boys refused to bow to the King's image but the King did bow to them and their God, Daniel 3. David refused to surrender to his brother's attack despite being younger and no experience of war, and that brought him to the presence of King Saul.

My prayer this morning, may we not quit too early in the race of life, may we not give-in to the ploy of our enemy and adversaries in Jesus name, Amen. Not giving-in is what makes the king sent for you. Don't give up, keep trying even when your body, spouse, friends and parents discourage you, keep moving until God says, stop here.

Good morning, and God bless you.
