Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 20, Day 6, Friday, 16th May 2025 TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: Don't Be Frightened (13)

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: Don't Be Frightened (13)

One Year Bible Reading:
1 King 18 - 19, John 7 : 25 - 8: 1 - 11.

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 11:12.
"12. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 17:42-43.
"42. And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance. 43. And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods."

Thinking Point:
What you're afraid of is also afraid of you, don't be frightened.

I welcome each and everyone today, may the Lord give us the boldness and courage to face every power and principality rising against us in Jesus name, Amen.

Intimidating is a strategy by the devil to imbibe fear in us. The devil is also afraid of us because he knows what we can do when we discover who we are. He's only trying to make us feel as a loser before facing him but they that do know their God shall be strong and do exploit, Daniel 11:20. Knowing who you are is what puts an end to the threat of the devil. He will try his best but your courage to face him regardless of his strategy wins the battle for you.

Goliath came out to intimidate David by asking, "Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with the staves?" The issue wasn't the staff but his boldness to take up the challenge to face him. The courage of this little boy to decide to face the tallest Man in history. For us to overcome that issue of life, we need not to see it as it introduces itself. We need to see that situation from the perspective of God, as a won battle, a dead snake, a sure victory, what you picture is what you capture, that was what David pictured, not the intimidation of Goliath. Brethren, God is with us always. When we move in His name and by the understanding of His power, we become the He in us in the face of opposition. Yes, the problems are real, they are powerful but not as powerful as God. May I let us know that every battle of life is not directly against us but against what God has ordained us to be. The fight is against what God is bringing out in us and the devil knows he will be defeated if you and I are allowed to become what God says. So, we need to face the devil with the mentality of who we are in Christ Jesus, seated above only with Christ, Colossians 3:1-2. Stop seeing the situation bigger, higher and powerful than what it is, we are above it and they are beneath us, only seek for the wisdom to handle them and stop position them above God. The devil is afraid of you as do you, but for the Lord has not given us the spirit of fear but of power... 2 Timothy 1:7. We have the power to speak and act against those situations. This morning, may the wisdom to handle those situations rest upon you, may you receive the courage to take your stand in the face of oppositions in Jesus name, Amen.

Good morning, and God bless you.
