Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 21, Day 5, Thursday, 22nd May 2025 TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: End Every War (19)

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: End Every War (19)

One Year Bible Reading:
2 King 8 - 9, John 10: 22 - 42.

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 11:12.
"12. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 17:50-51.
'50. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David. 51. Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled."

Thinking Point:
When you defeat a circumstance, finish it to be sure it won't rise again.

Victory is ours in Jesus name, amen. No power will be able to subdue us in life. When you are victorious how do you end the war? Did you cut down a tree leaving the root? When God grants you those desires do you prevent it from raising again or you move on without completing the war? When that miracle happens, when the right man/woman shows up, do you try to work on yourself in order not to return to that singlehood again? You got the contract at last but what are you putting in place to make sure you never return to that formal position you were in? Kill the snake and cut off the head. Don't be carried away by the falling of Goliath, make sure his head is off his body.

David knew what it is to defeat an archenemy like Goliath. His stone sank into Goliath's head and fell straight down assuming his death. But David couldn't take chances, despite not having a sword with him, the scripture said he drew out Goliath's saw and cut off his head, if there will be another Goliath it won't be the same, he ended the battle for life. When God restored your broken, what are you putting in place to avoid a repeat of that war? What are the strategies you are putting in place not to lose that Job again? What are you doing with the victory, celebration or finishing the battle not to raise again? When you want a tree dead, don't just cut the wood, cut the root also. Cut off Goliath's head when he's dead.

Good morning, and God bless you.
