Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 22, Day 3, Tuesday, 27th May 2025 TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: David's Humility (24)

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: David's Humility (24)

One Year Bible Reading:
2 King 20 - 22, John 13: 1 - 30.

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 11:12.
"12. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 18:5.
"5. And David went out whithersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul's servants."

Thinking Point:
Your achievements don't make you older than your age, learn to be humble always.

One of the reasons why many are not lifted is the fact that they can't manage greatness, they can't handle people when they are lifted. Pride is the fastest way to the bottom while humility is the fastest way to the top. When you are controlled by your accomplishments, know that you can't stay longer at the top. Everyone who remains at the top are those who are humble, not proud.

David was a Goliath killer, the achievement that King Saul couldn't achieve in his days but that same David was so humble to serve King Saul putting aside his trophy. He goes wherever the king sends him. He became a servant in the palace, no far fetched why God lifted him to the throne and established it forever.

With your present position you disrespect those older than you. You look down on others, likening them to objects. Listen to me, those around you determine the recommendation you will get in life. Some youth downgrade their parents all in the name of money and material things. You forgot they trained you with their resources, when it's your turn to repay them pride takes over you. God exalt the humble but abase the proud. Learn to be humble. No achievement adds to our age and no achievement lasts forever, there is always a position above where you are today and the only step that can take you there is humility. Learn to be humble no matter the height you've attained.
