TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: Knowing The Appointed Time (17)
One Year Bible Reading:
2 King 4 - 5, John 9: 1 - 41.
MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 11:12.
"12. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."
BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 17:49.
"49. And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth."
Thinking Point:
We can't stop making attempts because no one knows the appointed day.
A pleasant day ahead of us today in Jesus name, Amen. Today our focus on David is about repeated attempts on what we do best, doing things again and again until we are good at it. There are many failures before success but only one success supersedes all the accumulated failures. That is why you get to know someone today and later discover he's been doing the same thing for many years unnoticed. That's the power of consistency in what we are called to do.
David was not good at the use of sling the day he killed Goliath, he's been doing it for years. He has perfected the use before making the attempt on Goliath. Consistency birth perfection. That it's not working now isn't a reason to stop making attempts. That your ministry is not recognised isn't a reason to quit what God has assigned you to do. Nobody appreciating your work or encouraging what you are doing should not stop you from putting more effort. There is a day appointed for your manifestation if you will keep putting your best. Just one stone brought Goliath down, not the second trier or the third but the first. It's a product of consistency. Keep trying, keep working at it, don't be discouraged, you will soon get it right. You will soon use that sling to kill your Goliath if you keep building your talent, your gift and your calling. Your day of manifestation is closer than you think, don't quit in the place of your duty.
Good morning, and God bless you.
