Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 22, Day 7, Saturday, 31st May 2025 TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: Genuine Service Guarantees Safety (28)

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: Genuine Service Guarantees Safety (28)

One Year Bible Reading:
I Chronicles 5 - 6, John 15: 18 - 16: 1 -16.

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 11:12.
"12. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 18:10-12.
"10. And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul's hand. 11. And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with it. And David avoided out of his presence twice. 12. And Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, and was departed from Saul."

Thinking Point:
When services are rendered genuinely and with wisdom, God grants safety.

Beloved, it is the last day of the month of May, the Lord has been good to us and has released His blessings on us in all folds, to Him alone be all the glory forever more, Amen.

As we take our last topic on the series called "Lessons From Saul And David", It is my pleasure to let us know that, when God anointed us to render a service and it's rendered genuinely and wisely, the same God is there to take care of our safety no matter how devilish who we serve. When you pleased the Lord with your service, when you do it wholeheartedly, your safety is guaranteed. Every assignment or calling of God comes with safety if it's been rendered genuinely and wisely. Let's take a clue from 1st King 13, talking about the young prophet and the old prophet, the young prophet carried out God's assignment genuinely but without wisdom. Like I always say, he couldn't differentiate God's assignment and God's instructions to him. He carried out the assignment without wisdom and this cost him his life despite the anointing of God upon him. Every service needs to be carried out with wisdom.

David was an instrumentalist, a warrior, a Shepherd and a king in the making. He had the spirit of the Lord leading him but he was not too foolish while playing his harp. He was always alert while handling the instrument. He was not carried away while playing the harp for the King, he was always conscious with his eyes open to the occurrence in the presence of the king. Let's imagine an instrumentalist playing the keyboard with eyes closed in that scenario he would be long dead. David was targeted with a spare twice by the king, a formal warrior but he escaped the evil plot, why? He was rendering a genuine service with wisdom. This was a man who killed Goliath still serving as a slave to the King but with the wisdom of the most high. Yes, you may be rendering genuine service where you are but be alert with every situation happening around you. Be sensitive to God's leading as you carry out your duty. Don't be too loose as you render your services. Know the limit of your service with God and be wise. Be sensitive to know when your safety is at risk. When your boss doesn't care about your safety and your life, be wise with your services. Every service should be rendered with the wisdom of God. Don't be too loose while serving. Be intentional with your service and be wise as well. It is my prayer that God preserves us as we serve Him in our different duty posts in Jesus' mighty name, Amen. Let's render our services genuinely and with God's wisdom.
