Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 20, Day 5, Thursday, 15th May 2025 TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: Attack The Situation (12)

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: Attack The Situation (12)

One Year Bible Reading:
1 King 15 - 17, John 7 : 1 - 24.

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 11:12.
"12. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 17:40-41.
"40. And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: AND HE DREW NEAR TO THE PHILISTINE. 41. And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him."

Thinking Point:
The pathway to victory is to start the attack. Making the move unveils the options before you. (1)

Many times we believers wait for God to start before we follow. We wait for our helpers before we start making the move. We keep looking at the problem before us without making a move to eradicate it. You don't overcome a mountain by looking at it eyeball to eyeball, you make the move to go closer in order to see the options before you. You need a job but a job will not come looking for you, you will have to make a move to search for it. You need to get the right man/woman meant for you, then you also need to be the right man/woman fitting for the person you are looking for. You believe there's a limitation in your family, that's right but you don't have to sit waiting for it to be your turn, you make some moves that none of your relatives has made. When nothing is done nothing happens. When you don't move closer to those who can help you, you remain helpless. When you don't take the right step towards that issue you may be overwhelmed by the same issue you could have overcome.

David didn't wait for Goliath to call again, the scripture said, "AND HE DREW NEAR TO THE PHILISTINE." This signifies, boldness and assurance that, "I am ready for the battle ahead". This mentality wins the battle before it begins. He went straight to the battlefield to get the job done. Many times we allowed our situation to have a upper hand over us by sitting down downcasted, depressed and as a loser. King Saul was in that mood, he allowed the threat of Goliath to put him into hidden. He couldn't go out like the day he was walking perfectly before the Lord. When we live in disobedience to God we remain in perpetual fear of the unknown. David was so confident of the death of Goliath because he knew he had direct access to God and he was defending God of Israel. When we know who we are we are propel to move in His Might. I am challenging you today, raise up and move against that situation with the assurance of who you are in Christ. Apostle Paul said, we are seated in High places with Christ, above all powers, issues, challenges and opposition, it's time to move. Until you make a move God doesn't move neither will you be able to see clearly what's at stake. Move, for the battle is not as tough as you anticipated.
