Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 26, Day 5, Thursday, 26th June, 2025 TOPIC: ASKING, SEEKING AND KNOCKING: Be Contented And Show Gratitude (5)

TOPIC: ASKING, SEEKING AND KNOCKING: Be Contented And Show Gratitude (5)

One Year Bible Reading:
Nehemiah 4 - 6, Acts 12.

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 7:7.
"7. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:"

BIBLE READING:
Philippians 4:11
"11. Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."

Thinking Point:
Appreciation is not dependent on the size of help received, it's meant for gratitude.

The reason for the lack of genuine appreciation is discontentment and being over-expectant. Lack of appreciation to God and men withholds the best yet to be seen. That people gave you a little help or gave below your expectations doesn't mean you are not loved but it really means that is what God has for you from such a person. John 3:27 put it this way,
"27. John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven."

We can't get more than the heavens have for us. What God put in that person's mind to release to you is what He gave even if he did less than what he was capable of, showing appreciation will bring the remaining wherever it may be. Not showing appreciation or being content with what you have closes the doors meant for you. Remember the ten lepers, the one who showed appreciation received wholeness from leprosy, Luke 17:12-19. He was happy leprosy was gone, not knowing it can still be better, and for showing gratitude he was made whole completely.

1 Timothy 6:6-8.
"6. But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content."

Learn to be grateful for the little your spouse could bring to the table, appreciate him/her, don't compare him/her with others because God never created humans to be the same, even twins are different. Learn to be content with what you are given because you didn't work for it, you only made a request and it was released to you. Stop complaining of not having enough, appreciate God for having the little that sustains you. Be content. Appreciate those who gave from what they had. What about those who turned you down? We may not have what we wanted but we all had what is sustaining us till date, show some gratitude to God. Be grateful for life. Be grateful for help. Be grateful for the response. Be grateful someone cares. Be content with what you have while waiting for a better one. God has the best for you and me in someone's hands who will release it at God's command. Show gratitude for every little help and assistance received.
