TOPIC: BE STILL: Give Him Praise (5)
One Year Bible Reading:
Psalms 7 - 10, Acts 25: 1 - 12.
MEMORY VERSE:
John 14:1
"1. Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me."
BIBLE READING:
2 Chronicles 20:17, 21.
"17. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. ... 21. And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever."
Thinking Point:
Be Still also means to give God thanks for what He will do.
Grace is speaking for you in the midst of all opposition in Jesus' name, Amen.
When the word of the Lord says, Be still, it means it's time to celebrate who God is, the mightiness of God, to focus on God not the present situation. As a matter of fact, when God speaks in the midst of difficulties it's time to worship Him like never before. That is the time to praise Him for the past victories and what He will do. To Be Still means, Lord I know I have won this battle again, you've settled the matter already. When Hannah went to present His vow to God, she held onto the word Prophet Eli who said,
"17. Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him. 18. And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad. 1 Samuel 1:17-18.
Hannah held onto the word of Eli and went home with a different countenance knowing that God has done it. Most times when the situation is hard all we need to do is to be still and give God praise, changing our countenance with the faith that God has done.
When the Lord sent a message to Judah and Jehoshaphat to be still and see the salvation of God, the message didn't include praising God but Jehoshaphat took the decision to praise God in the face of the battles and God rose up and won the battle without Israelite raising a weapon. Beloved, you've tried all you can to be still, now include the praise of God, settled those standing issues by singing His praise, dancing without beat, shouting from within not from the outside. Be still and sing His praise, sing His worship, celebrate your victory ahead of its arrival and you will be a conqueror.
Good morning, and God bless you.
