TOPIC: NEW CREATION TOOL: Don't Be Idle (5)
One Year Bible Reading:
Psalms 30 - 31, Acts 28: 17 - 31.
MEMORY VERSE:
2 Corinthians 5:17
17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
BIBLE READING:
Ephesians 4:28
"28. If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.
Thinking Point:
To be idle is an invitation to a worthless life. Hard work keeps you busy both mentally and physically.
A call to a believer isn't a call to idleness and laziness but a call to diligence and activeness. A call to be a blessing to life not a burden. A call to stand out in all endeavours with the works of our hands. Everyone called by God has something to do, for God is a worker, Jesus works, which means we are not exempted from working diligently. We are not created to depend on others which is why we need to find the purpose of our lives in God. When purpose is lost identity is not identified. Many lives are wasted around today living miserable, walking around without destination and focus which leads to stealing, smoking, thuggery and hopelessness all because purpose is lacking. According to the saying, 'an idle hand is the workshop of the devil' when you are idle the devil employs you.
Paul speaking in 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12,
"10. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. 11. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. 12. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
Whoever will not work is not entitled to eat no matter who they are. We are to provide for ourselves and immediate families. You steal because you covet what you don't work for, taking advantage of others because you are lazy, this shouldn't be found in our midst. As a husband, wife, children, youth and parent we need to be up and doing, not working disorderly but working orderly to provide for ourselves.
What are you doing? What are you called to do? Why did you stop working? Who are you feeding? It's in a wrong for you not feeding anyone but being fed by others. It's time to get back to work. It's time to get something doing that will make you a responsible believers. Begging is not work neither is stealing, robbery or thuggery is a job, do something that affects lives positively and your bills will be taken care of.
Good morning, and God bless you.
