TOPIC: WHO IS A PREACHER? What Is Preaching (3)
One Year Bible Reading:
Job 15 - 18, Acts 19: 8 - 41.
MEMORY VERSE:
Mark 16:15.
"15. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
BIBLE READING:
John 9:8-11.
"8. The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged? 9. Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he. 10. Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened? 11. He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
Thinking Point:
Everyone who has experienced the touch of God is a preacher, in order words, we are called preachers.
What is preaching? Is the question before us today. Preaching is seen as standing by the pulpit and speaking from the Bible or going on what we call evangelism or morning cry, no, those are an aspect of preaching. To preach is to make God known to people around. Preaching is telling people what God has done in your life and what He will do in others' lives. Jesus at the well in Samaria met a Samaritan and spoke with her. When the woman discovered who Jesus was through their conversation, she became a preacher instantly.
John 4:28-30.
"30. The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, 31. Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? 32. Then they went out of the city, and came unto him."
That is preaching. Preaching is to tell others about God. Making God know to others through the things He has done in your life. Preaching is, "Come and see", when you don't have a testimony you may not have the ability to preach because what you don't have you can't give.
The man born blind was another preacher. After receiving his sight a lot of smoke was generated. From those who knew him, his neighbours, the Pharisees and the Jews leader, they began to marvel but still disregarded the miracle because it's becoming a bad market for them. But at every instance they questioned the man, he kept telling them, "The man Jesus restored my sight", "All I know was that, I was blind but now I can see".
Testifying about the works of God is witnessing, that is preaching. You may not need to carry the Bible or stand in the church, all you need is to tell someone of the act of God. To tell others the doing of God in your life, that is preaching. You are a call preacher but are you preaching at all? When was the last time you spoke to people about the act of God in your life? Tell others the difference in your life since you met Christ is preaching about Jesus. Now you know, start preaching about Jesus to your neighbours and colleagues from today on.
Good morning, and God bless you.
