Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 33, Day 7, Saturday, 16th August, 2025 TOPIC: A WET WOOD: His Word In Us (7)

TOPIC: A WET WOOD: His Word In Us (7)

One Year Bible Reading:
Psalm 104 - 106, 1 Corinthians 1.

Memory Verse:
Prov. 26:20
"20. Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases."

Bible Reading:
John 15:5-8
"5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples."

Thinking Point:
Christ words in us sustain both the wet and dry wood for productivity.

Apostle Paul said, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13.
He who abides in Christ Jesus, (who is the vine), can make all things happen (through Christ). We are part of Christ if we surrender to Him. We boldly quote these scriptures and things are still hard for us to achieve. We decree and declare but the devil is not moved. We pray and fast and keep waiting without a sign from God, that means, something is not right somewhere. Are we still with the vine and does Christ's word abide In us?

Jesus said, if we abide in Him and His word abides in us, every of our requests will be granted by God the Father. We abide in Jesus but His word does not abide in us. We profess Jesus but His word is not in our heart. Abiding in Jesus and His word in us is what produces fruits not experience or mentor's instruction. Not head thinking but His word abiding in us. Without His word in us no fruit and every branch without a fruit is cut down by God, the vine dresser, John 15:1.

Are you being removed or pruned by the vinedresser? When men give up on you there is hope, but when God gives up on you, you are done. Hope over-familiarity with Jesus has not made us forget Him as our Lord and Saviour? Hope our education has not blindfolded us to the strength of Jesus? I mean, our achievements, has it made us think Jesus’s word is secondary in your life? When we lack His word in us we lack direction, we lack instructions and lack fruits to produce. God still needs branches that will produce fruit. Are you available for him? "For Without me (Jesus), you can do nothing". Remain in Jesus and let His word abide in you. When His word fills our heart the output will be fruitfulness and not fruitlessness. Don't be carried away by your accolades, because, He is the reason behind it all.
