TOPIC: Hindrances In Church: Distracted Mind (4)

“2. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”

Thinking Point:
To receive from God, you need to be present in the Spirit, Soul and Body in God's presence.

Our mind while in the presence of God plays an important role in receiving from God. God is not moved by our tears only, not by eye service nor by our presence in church but by the Spirit within us, where our mind is focused. Where is your mind when you are in God's presence, at home, wandering away or with God? What's going on within you during the service? Are you fully in the service or being carried away by your challenges? Your attention is what God needs in the service.

God is a spirit and we must connect with Him through our Spirit. Some go to church and gain nothing except complaining, jesting and grumbling about closing time, seeing what's not right in the church or focusing on the weaknesses of God's servants, they can't receive from God this way. You need to clear your mind off all distractions, imaginations and thoughts that can stop your spirit from being in touch with God. Many will be in the service scrolling through their phone while service is on, why are you in church? Why not sit at home to enjoy your phone? Some will sleep off during service, some will be outside after praise and worship, with this attitude you can't receive from God, for God needs a man of the spirit to receive through the spirit. When you are not connected to the spirit you can't benefit from the spirit. The scripture said we set our affection toward God above, to look up to Jesus not situations around us, people's challenges or weaknesses but to make God the focus. Our attention is what draws Him closer. Make up your mind before going to church, define your focus and walk by it. When the Spirit of God sees your readiness He will visit you spirit, soul and body. God into His presence with a ready mind to receive from Him without distraction.
