Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty: 17. Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee."
Thinking Point:
Going into the presence of God empty handed is a hindrance to receiving from God.
May we enjoy harvest and rest from all our labour in Jesus's name, Amen.
Beloved, we have come to the end of our focus for this week, which is the hindrance to receiving from God. Our last topic today is "Appearing before God empty handed." It's not a good habit to go into God's presence with a gift. One of the reasons God blesses us with all that we have is to praise and bless His name back. Everything we have today belongs to God including ourselves. Have you ever wondered how the Israelites got all the gifts and offerings they gave to God during their journey in the wilderness? He instructed them to ask the Egyptians while leaving the Land of Egypt. They received Gold and silver and emptied the land before leaving, why? So they wouldn't appear before the Lord empty when come to His presence. That they may have in abundance when it's time to give to the Lord. Going before God empty handed is a sign of ingratitude except otherwise.
God instructed the Israelites even in the wilderness to appear before Him with gifts to show their appreciation. They are to give according to the blessings of the Lord upon their lives, not being compelled or beyond their capability. Many today will say they don't have enough to give to God whereby God is interested in that little they have not in what they lack. It's a different scenario to have and claim not to have, to be blessed and still pretend to be in lack because God sees all that you have. Every gift presented to God is a seed with multiple harvest in future. God deserves your offering, it's a sign of gratitude to Him. Avoid appearing in His presence without a substance.
Good morning, and God bless you.
