TOPIC: OUR RESPONSE TO GOD: Reveals Our Faith Level (4)

One Year Bible Reading:
Ecclesiastes 1 - 2,
2 Corinthians 11 :16 - 33.

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Chronicles 20:20.
"20. ... Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper."

BIBLE READING:
John 11:39-41.
"39. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. 40. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? 41. Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

Thinking Point:
Our response to God's instructions reveals the level of faith we have in God.

It's another end of the week, we return praises to God our maker and Lord, blessed be to His name forever more, Amen.
The level of our faith is exposed by our response to God's instructions. We can easily identify where we belong by how we handle God's directives. When God instructs us through His servants how do we respond? Most times we praise God with ease, dance to Gospel songs without being ashamed in our houses but when He instructs us on our resources or what's special to us, how do we respond?

Martha was a sister to the dead Lazarus, she's the person who needed Jesus the most at that moment. When she saw Jesus, she was supposed to be happier and full of the same faith which prompted her to call Jesus before Lazarus' death. But when she saw Jesus, her response to Him was shallow. Jesus was speaking to those standing by Lazarus' grave to move the stone, but it was Martha who responded that it was too late, the same person who called on Jesus.
"39. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days."

Jesus had to ask Martha if she still believed in Him before she could allow people to move the stone on Lazarus' grave.

Did you allow your present situations to water your faith? Do you give up so easily that you can't apply faith to God's instructions anymore? Say with me,

“Father, help my fainting faith. Lord help my falling faith. Lord, help my failing faith. Help my unbelieve, help me respond with faith to your instructions in the name of Jesus, Amen.
