TOPIC: WHY LACK OF HELPER?: Lack Of Diligence (6)
One Year Bible Reading:
Isaiah 19 - 22,
Ephesians 3:1 - 21.
MEMORY VERSE:
Psalms 60:11-12.
"11. Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. 12. Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies."
BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 16:17-18.
"17. And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring him to me. 18. Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him."
Thinking Point:
Continuous improvement in what we do is a way to attract helpers.
Thank God It's Friday, the last of its kind in September, glory be to the faithful God for bringing us this far. Another reason for the lack of helpers is lack of diligence in what we do. Nobody will help or advertise what they don't know. People can only testify of the effort they've seen, enjoyed or appreciated. Being diligent in what we do regardless of people's response attracts helpers, sponsors, partners and advisers. When you are good at nothing you get no advert, no recommendations or followers. Many of us are not diligent enough for men to see what we can offer. Solving problems with your skills, talent, gifts attracts helpers and advertises you.
David was in the bush practising diligently all he knew how to do, as a shepherd, a warrior, an instrumentalist and showcasing his wealth of wisdom, all in the bush till one of King Saul's servants saw him and mentioned him to the King. He described all the qualities in David in a few seconds and the king sent for him. What should people tell others about you? What will your helper help you in and in which area? What are you diligent on that will bring you before the King? Is it complaining, quarreling, cheating, abusive or arrogance? What will others tell people about you and me? Listen to King Solomon,
Proverbs 22:29.
"29. Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men."
What are we diligent in and how diligent are we?
Good morning, and God bless you.
