John 11:39-41.
" 39. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. 40. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? 41. Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me."
Thinking Point:
What is too late for man is timely to God if we act according to His instructions.
It's the first working day of the week, our work will work for us and not against and make enviable profit in Jesus 'Mighty name, Amen.
Yesterday, we saw how Apostle Peter's response to Jesus' instruction was different from his action. He doubted Jesus' instructions but still went ahead to act and the result was unimaginable. Today, we focus on Martha, who believed Lazarus wouldn't have died if Jesus was there earlier. He believed Jesus is the resurrection and life but He can't bring back the dead. Also, we believed what God is doing in other people's lives but doubted if it can be done in our lives. We share others' testimony about healing, deliverance, the fruit of the womb but we have no faith in Him doing the same in us because we think it's too late. God doesn't work with our time, He works with His time.
Martha discouraged Jesus from disturbing Lazarus' corpse because it had been buried four days ago. Jesus wouldn't have achieved the miracle if the people or Martha refused to remove the stone. But thank God for those who had faith in Jesus's ability, the scripture says, "Then They Took" away the stone from the place where the dead was laid." When the stone was rolled away Jesus was able to restore Lazarus back to life. When we act according to God's instructions, even when we don't believe but act foolishly because He gave the instruction, then we will reap the harvest. Martha's response and action would have made Lazarus remain dead but the people around her helped her faith. Who is around you helping your faith? They never said a word but they acted according to Jesus's instructions.
Father in the name of Jesus, surround me with people who will help my faith and act in line with your instructions, in Jesus’ Mighty name, Amen.
