TOPIC: OUR RESPONSE TO THE MASTER: Borrow Without Comment (4)

One Year Bible Reading:
Jeremiah 11 - 12
1 Timothy 4: 1 - 16

MEMORY VERSE:
Habakkuk 2:1.
"1. I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved."

BIBLE READING:
2 Kings 4:2-5.
"2. And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. 3. Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. 4. And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. 5. So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out"

Thinking Point:
Total obedience to God's instruction gives birth to a complete miracle.

As the day lights up, our day will be lightening up for fresh wisdom from above in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.
Today, let's focus on a woman who acted without negative responses to an odd instruction from God's servant. Remember, her two sons were to be taken as bondsmen until the repayment of the debt her husband owed before his death. She was in debt and the solution given to her was to go and borrow vessels again, another indebtedness. How would you feel with such an instruction when you are in debt? What will our responses be when such instructions come our way when we are still struggling in debt? In her case, no comment, no argument, just total obedience to the instruction.

Secondly, she was instructed to pour the little oil she has at home into the borrowed vessels until it filled up, how come? A bottle of anointing oil to fill up buckets of water, is it reasonable? No. But guess what, she followed the instructions without an iota of doubt, responded positively without raising questions of "How will it be?"

The problem we have today is trying to reason God's instruction with our mind and not with the mind of God. Being too calculative, brainstorming and virtual makes us miss what God has for us. In her case, She went home, borrowed many vessels and picked up the oil and did according to God's instructions and behold, the oil never stopped until the vessel finished. She went for another instruction and was told to sell it up and pay the debt.

Beloved, we remain where we are today because we reason all God's instructions with our mind and not with faith. We attract the voice of God not the instructions. Our response and action determines if what God says concerning us will stand or fail. We need to see His instructions the same way God says it. Just carry out the instructions as instructed.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
