TOPIC: PREPARING FOR 2026: What Went Wrong in 2025? (2)

"6. When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padanaram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan; 7. And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padanaram; 8. And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father; 9. Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife."
Thinking Point:
Analyze 2025's setbacks and develop strategies to overcome them in 2026.
Still in the season of Christmas, may the reason for this season never depart our lives, the good tidings of our Lord Jesus will remain visible in us in Jesus name, Amen.
The year 2025 has indeed been a wonderful year. We all have testimony to share, take home that brought joy to our hearts and souls, yes, God has been so faithful to His word in our lives. Nevertheless, some question marks still remain concerning our desires and visions for the year 2025 which are yet to become a reality, what really went wrong? What should we have done to make things right? What are those things that need to be in place so that such delay won't repeat itself in 2026? This is what I want us to see today.
From the story of Esua, we know how he lost his father's blessing due to his nonchalant attitude and the evil device of his mother. We knew how Jacob took his birthright and ran away. He wasn't able to receive fatherly blessings from the man he served for many years. But what he did is our focus today. Esau traced back what went wrong, he discovered that his parents were not happy with the Canaanite woman she married. He went to the lineage of Abraham, and married the daughter of Ismail.
Secondly, He remember what his father told him when he forcefully ask for his blessings, he said,
"40. ... and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck. Genesis 27:40
Esau began to search for Dominion, he traced his step backward and discovered his real self. The next time Jacob met with Esau, Esau had four hundred bodyguards and Jacob was afraid of him.
To make the year 2026 a better year we need to look back to where we got it all wrong and find a way to avoid it in the coming year. Is it training on how to improve ourselves and create more opportunities? It's time to start strategizing. It's time to start preparing for 2026. What is that Canaanite idea that ruins your progress in the year 2025? Locate and separate yourself from it. Trace back what went wrong in 2025 and eradicate it to move forward in the year 2026.
