Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 51, Day 6, Friday, 19th December, 2025 TOPIC: THE STRENGTH OF THE LORD: Waiting Upon The Lord (6)
TOPIC: THE STRENGTH OF THE LORD: Waiting Upon The Lord (6)
One Year Bible Reading:
Micah 4 - 5
Revelation 11
MEMORY VERSE:
Isaiah 41:10.
"10. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
BIBLE READING:
Isaiah 40:31.
"31. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
Thinking Point:
Waiting on God in the place of prayer and fasting brings God's strength.
Hallelujah! It's another weekend, the Lord has been faithful throughout this week, we bless His name for all forms of strength released upon us for the week, Glory be to His name forever more, Amen.
We have been discussing the strength of God this week. We talked about increasing and renewing strength which can only come from God the Almighty who is strength personified. He gives strength to the weary and renews the strength of the fainted. But how do we receive this strength from the source of all strength? By waiting on God, trusting in His ability. By asking for strength. Prophet Isaiah said,
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;"
King David said,
"1. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry." Psalms 40:1.
Waiting upon the Lord speaks of seeking the face of God through fasting and prayer. It's a deliberate act of going to God without a prior instruction to fast and pray. It's a personal decision to seek God's face for strength. We can also call it a time of retreat, when your focus is on God to increase your strength or for renewal of strength. David said, I waited patiently on the Lord. It involves separating our time for God, we devote ourselves to Him totally
We wait on God patiently. We wait on God quietly. We wait on God in expectation. Prophet Habakkuk said
"1. I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved." Habakkuk 2:1.
Placing our request before Him in supplication, with Thanksgiving and listening to hear from Him according to Philippians 4:6, which says,
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."
Waiting on God entails determination, commitment, separation and wholeheartedness. Are you willing to wait on God for a renewer of strength? Are you ready to pay the price? The year is running to an end, we are about to cross over into a new year, it's time to seek His face for strength for a new year.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
