Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 3, Day 3, Tuesday, 13th January, 2026 TOPIC: 2026, My Year To BE SOUGHT FOR: Go The Extra Mile (12)

TOPIC: 2026, My Year To BE SOUGHT FOR: Go The Extra Mile (12)

One Year Bible Reading:
Genesis 31 - 33
Matthew 10: 1 - 23

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Samuel 9:1.
"1. And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 41:33-35.
"33. Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt. 34. Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years. 35. And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities."

Thinking Points:
Don't just tell people their problems, profound the solution too.

The wisdom of God makes one different amongst equals, today we will operate in the wisdom of God, men will confirm God's hands upon our lives in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

We are focused on keys to make men search for you for lifting and promotions. We have discussed that the first Key is to "Put God First." "Improve Yourself." "Grieve Not The Holy Spirit." Showcase Your Uniqueness”, and today we focus on "Go The Extra Mile." Going the extra mile means, do beyond what is required of you, prove you can do better. You know, I have seen many artisans who refuse to go the extra mile in their work. They can't do more than they've bargained with their client, any little added work becomes trouble to them. They start complaining, grumbling and tight their faces as if they are being cheated. That attitude makes you lose your client with ease. They won't have the huge to send for you the next time because you can't go the extra mile. There are times you have to do beyond what you are required to please your client. Your boss may be someone who likes to overuse people, that shouldn't be the reason not to go the extra mile. When you are called whenever there's work and others shy away from responsibility, don't do the same, go the extra mile.

When Joseph was called to interpret the King's dream, he did his job perfectly, have the accurate interpretation but he never stopped there, he went the extra mile and gave the King the next steps forward,
" Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt."

As a king, He was still trying to find a way out of interpretation but Joseph gave him the solution, "get a wise man who can do this and this and put him in charge to save the food during the surplus years". And the King asked the next question,

"39. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: 40. Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou." - Genesis 41:39-40.

Do you believe with me that the interpretation didn't give Joseph the post of the prime minister but the extra mile did? If he had left the king's presence without going that extra mile, he may not have been the prime minister. Listen to me, when you discover a problem, you can solve the problem if you are willing to go the extra mile. David went the extra mile by confronting Goliath with slings not with sword and arrow, 1 Samuel 17:39-40. Going the extra mile puts you ahead of others. Daniel received the king's dream and gave the interpretation by going the extra mile. If you want to be the hot cake to be sought for this year, you need to go the extra mile. Do more than is expected of you and you will always be the preferred in all you do.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
