Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 5, Day 3, Tuesday, 27th January, 2026 TOPIC: JONAH'S STORY; Victim By Coincidence (3)

TOPIC: JONAH'S STORY; Victim By Coincidence (3)

One Year Bible Reading:
Exodus 13 - 15
Matthew 19:1 - 15

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Samuel 15:22
"22. And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."

BIBLE READING:
Jonah 1:4-5
"4. But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.
5 Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep."

Thinking Point:
When you welcome whom God is against you become God's victim.

This morning, may we not walk with the wrong people or associate with those running from God in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Brethren not all people can be walked or worked with, My Lord shall guide our steps daily in Jesus mighty name, Amen. Many are being punished for helping others, some die while solving others' problems. Many are carrying loads belonging to others while leaving theirs behind, we will not be a victim of such in Jesus name, Amen. When we associate with cursed people we become victims of their curse. When Korah, Dathan and Abiram were fighting Moses, God's servant, many who joined them became victims in death, Numbers 16. When someone running from God enters your camp everything becomes upside down, we will not encounter such in Jesus' mighty name, Amen. Many speak against ministers, fight other’s battles without being invited and end up becoming victims, you need to watch what you get involved in.

Jonah was a Prophet of God, who was to bring God's presence and blessings to those in the ship but his present brought calamity and the hand of God was against the ship. The Lord caused a mighty wind which had not been experienced by the Mariners against their ship and they knew wasn't ordinary. May I ask you this morning, I hope your disobedience to God's instructions is not the reason why many are avoiding to help you? Hope you are not the reason why those who helped you regretted helping you? When you are running from God's will and instruction He makes soft land become stony ground and makes your labour become a burden. When things aren't working as
expected in your life two pointers to check is;
1. Have I disobeyed God's instruction?
2. Have I allowed a wrong person into my ship?
The Mariners welcomed a man whom God was against and they faced the wrath of God. It is my prayer this morning that we will not become a victim of others' punishment, we shall not be published for what we know nothing about and we will not mingle with wrong association in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
Turn to God and respond to His instructions in order not to become a cursed person to others.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
