"1. And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

"6. ..., but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
Thinking Point:
No one can encourage and motivate you more than yourself. Be encouraged.
It's the end of another week, God has been faithful, we return to say, Thank You Father for all the benefits you released on us.
Today, my focus is, “Encourage yourself” in times of challenges. Many people don't want you to succeed in life, they are looking for your downfall. So, expecting someone to encourage you may be the last expectation from men. Many showed interest in you not because they want you to succeed just for what they will enjoy when you succeed. In the days of Jesus Christ our Lord, it was very rare to see anyone encouraging Him during His mission on Earth, despite that, He succeeded. In that field of yours, be the one to push yourself forward, waiting for others to motivate you might never be a reality. Apostle Paul was a man of Grace who found it difficult to receive any encouragement in His mission but one statement which kept him during his time on earth was found in Philippians 4:13, which says,
"13. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
That is the spirit of encouragement, the spirit of Faith to keep pushing. It may look like your strength is drained but let the word come from the angle of Faith that I can move on, I can do better, I can turn the situation around, encourage yourself when no one is there to encourage you.
David came back to meet with his family but met an empty house, scattered area, nothing to show that there was human in existence in their area. They all burst into tears till they were all worn out. The soldiers were so discouraged to the extent of stoning their leader David, but the scripture said,
"...., but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God".
I am saying to someone this morning, encourage yourself in the Lord. It doesn't matter when those you trusted turned against you, encourage yourself in the Lord. When all promises fail, encourage yourself in the Lord. Pick up the challenge and face the situation squarely because "You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you". When David encouraged himself in the Lord the soldiers saw a new Him, changed their mind, and followed his next other. Until you encourage yourself in the Lord and take a new step you will remain a loser, you will be mocked and no one will believe in you any more. To become the sent for this year encourage yourself by doing your best without listening to opposition, encourage yourself in the Lord and keep moving. Many destiny depends on you, your failure is the failure of many generations. Encourage yourself and start again, pick the courage to go again and you will end up a success in all your endeavours in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
