Thinking Point:
No one honours men rightly without honouring God first.

This week we are focusing on "Honouring All Men", giving honour to who is due to. Everyone deserves some level of respect whatsoever. Meanwhile, honour is earned not requested. Honour is a virtue that everyone must reflect and give to others. But above all men, there is a God who all men should honour first without negotiation. The one who created all human and living things, God is over and above all, there is no bone of contention about that. Only the dead can dispute that there is God. If someone doesn't believe in your God it simply means he has another God, meaning he believes in something else. But there is a God called the CREATOR, no one can dispute his own creator because no one created himself. This God deserved to be honoured first, He is to be worshiped and revered daily by all.
Honouring God involves demonstrating high regard for Him, serving Him with reverence, and reflecting His character in our daily lives. To honour God is to give Him His place in all things. Honouring God is from within not without. What you say and think reflects how you honour Him.
How do we honour God?
1. By Worshipping Him.
Worship has been misunderstood by many to be songs with slow beats, solemn moves while the eyes are closed, but this is just the outer part of worship which doesn't really reflect worshiping God. John 4:24 says,
"24. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
25. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Worship is a thing of the heart, the mind, the soul and spirit. When worship is not from within it is called acting and God is not honoured. To honour God we have to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
2. By Obeying His commands. When we obey His instructions we are honouring Him. When we do all things according to His direction, He is honoured.
3. We honour God with our substance, our mouth and our lives, Proverbs 3:9.
When we honour Him He honours us in return. Honouring God is what enhances honouring man, if you can't honour God you can't honour man. So the first person to honour is God.
