Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry© Mobile Daily Devotional Week 8, Day 2, Monday, 16th February, 2026 TOPIC: YOUR NEIGHBOUR: Your Victim Is Your Neighbour (2)

TOPIC: YOUR NEIGHBOUR: Your Victim Is Your Neighbour (2)

One Year Bible Reading:
Leviticus 9 - 10
Mark 2: 1 - 22

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 22:39.
"39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

BIBLE READING:
Luke 10:30-37.
"30. And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead."

Thinking Point:
Everyone you hurt, lawfully or unlawfully, is your neighbour.

This week, we will not become unfortunate, we shall be fortunate for help, blessings and breakthrough in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

God is showing us another aspect of Jesus's parable. We've focused on the robbed man and the three men who passed by but not the robbers. You know, everyone of us might be that robber robbing our neighbours. You can be that man or woman denying or depriving your neighbour of what belongs to them. In your business, workplace, neighbourhood even in your marriage, you might be the reason many people have been stranded because you never treated them as a neighbour but as an enemy. Every act of evil is against someone, someone's father or mother, someone's spouse or children. When you frustrate someone, you are automatically frustrating a family and those who depend on them, and get this straight, that person is your neighbour whom Jesus said you should love as yourself.

The robbers who attacked the Jewish man saw him as their victim, a client, their beneficiary, so they took advantage of him, attacked him, robbed him and left him half dead, unknown to them that he is their neighbour. Is that not what we do to others daily? We cheat others with every little opportunity. We robbed people of their hard earned money because they patronise us. We increase our bills at will, increase tax, school fee, electricity bills, water bill and materials without considering others all because we want gain. Beloved, everyone we had contact with are our neighbours not just the person staying in our neighbourhood. Because we call them clients, customers, friends we presumed they are not our neighbours and we are wrong. Robbers robbed their neighbour because they were evil minded, not considering others' lives. You kill for a living because you see them as objects to be killed not as neighbour. It's time to change our mentality and mindset of who our neighbour is. Matthew 22:39 say,
“39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

That person you dislike is your neighbour. We call people enemies instead of neighbours. That's why we see them as our victims but Jesus said, Love your neighbour as your enemy. That person that needs your help is a neighbour, render the needed help. Stop taking advantage of others like the robbers in Jesus' parable, see others as your neighbour.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
