TOPIC: FOLLOWING JESUS: Be Consistent

One Year Bible Reading:
1st Samuel 8 - 10
Luke 17:20 - 18:1 - 14

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 11:28.
"28. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

BIBLE READING:
John 6:1-5.
"1. After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.
2. And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.
3. And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
4. And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.
5. When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?"

Thinking Point:
Jesus isn't heartless to attend to our needs, Just keep following Him.

Good morning fellow believers in Christ. This week promises to be a week of answers of prayer for each and everyone of us in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

Our study this week will focus on Jesus' principles while on Earth. There are some principles we need to learn from Jesus from the Book of John chapter 6. Following Jesus isn't a thing of a day but consistency. Before you receive from God, He watches out for a level of relationship and hunger of His love. When Jesus said,

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

He wasn't speaking of a one time thing but a repeated coming to Him on a daily basis. From our text the scripture says in verse 2,
"2. And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased."

These multitudes have been following Jesus from a different location. When Jesus changes location the multitude will follow Him, try to locate Him until they find Him. This has been happening again again. In verse 5, Jesus saw another multitude flocking toward Him again,
"5. When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?"

Then He felt a need to be met. Our consistency in following Jesus is what shows our need for Him. This is what propels Him to attend to us. Let me put it this way, when Mercy fails your consistency will speak. When you are overlooked in the crowd, your followership steps in. Many may be singled out to enjoy God's help or blessing but some is there consistent walk with God. God may be waiting for your persistence before attending to you, don't quit moving towards Him daily. Jesus said "Come unto me, ... and I will give you rest" your rest may come quickly through mercy and it may come through persistent followership. Since we don't know how and when Jesus will visit us we should not be discouraged in following Him daily until He notices us.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
