TOPIC: FOLLOWING JESUS: Response Of Men (12)

One Year Bible Reading:
2nd Samuel 7 - 8
Luke 23:50-56 - 24:1-12

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 11:28.
"28. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

BIBLE READING:
John 6:14
"14. Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world."

Thinking Point:
Our attitude towards others confirms where we stand with God.

Today being the last day of the month of April, is a proof of God's mercy at work in our lives. The strength, blessing and mercies of God has been our sustenance, may His name alone be praised forevermore in Jesus name, Amen.

As we conclude on our teaching about our topic "Following Jesus" our focus today says, "Response of Men". What are people saying about our lifestyle? What they see in our lives determines the conclusion of where we belong. When Jesus was done feeding over 10,000 people with five loaves of barley and two small fishes, they saw something about Jesus and came to a conclusion of who Jesus should be. Our lifestyle makes preaching the gospel easier or difficult for us. Our stand with Jesus reveals our message before speaking about Him. When they saw the miracle of Jesus they believed His personality as the prophet to come. Mind you, Jesus never preached a word, He did not speak about His personality nor taught them about the kingdom of God, He only made provision of loaves of barley and fishes which were collected from a lad, but that convinced them that His is the prophet to come.

Sometimes, we don't need to carry our Bible before we preach. We don't need to start a long sermon for people to come to God but our lifestyle, our words, attitudes, how we relate with others in our family, environment and place of work will preach the message.

Let us see what happened in Acts 11:26,
"26. And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. AND THE DISCIPLES WERE CALLED CHRISTIANS FIRST IN ANTIOCH."

In the world we are today, we are tagged named according to what we do, how we live, what we say, just like the disciples were tagged named, "Christian" in Antioch. They were living a life that pointed others to Jesus. Their messages and lifestyle were in accordance. We will be tagged name but will the name point them to Jesus or point them to something else? What are we showcasing to others with our lives? Who are we pointing people to Jesus or the devil? What is the conclusion of people concerning our lifestyle? They said of Jesus,
"... This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world."

What are they saying about my life? What are they saying about your lifestyle? What is your spouse, children and family saying about your lifestyle? Is it emulating? It's time to work on what we do and what we say rather than preaching and carrying the Bible all around with an opposite lifestyle. Let our lives speak about Jesus before opening our month to talk about Him.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
