TOPIC: FOLLOWING JESUS: Reject Negative Response (4)

One Year Bible Reading:
1st Samuel 16 - 17
Luke 19:28 - 48

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 11:28.
"28. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

BIBLE READING:
John 6:5 & 7.
"5. When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?"
"7. Philip answered him, Two hundredth pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little."

Thinking Points:
Don't be limited by negative minded people, move forward.

A wonderful day ahead of us in Jesus name, Amen.

In continuation of our lesson from the Book of John chapter 6, Jesus was privileged to receive a negative response from those he trusted that should know better. His response wasn't an answer but a discouragement to think further. He said to Jesus,
"Two hundredth pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little."

Jesus never asked for the total cost of bread that will feed the people but, "Where can we get bread to feed these people?" Philip's response was discouraging and confusing, it shows his lack of faith. Jesus was asking for location; he was talking of the number and resources to get the bread. Sometimes, we are speaking to the wrong people concerning what God assigned us. We walk and work around people that are frustrating our effort and showing us impossibility in what God says is possible. When you pitch your tent permanently with those people you will end up achieving nothing in life.

At every point in life who we speak to about our dreams, intention and purpose matters. Who we call our colleagues determines our attitude. Who we turn to for advice or help is very crucial. So, it's our duty to identify who will speak to and what they say. It's our duty to identify negative words that can kill our Spirit.

Philip was showing Jesus impossibility in His possibility. He was showing Jesus why He shouldn't tread on that path. He presented the situation like what is not achievable. Beware of those people around you. When you have issues in your marriage beware of those you speak to. When you have a fresh idea beware of who you run to for advice. When you decide to invest or help others beware of who you speak to. Someone who doesn't believe or have intention of buying shares or bonds can't encourage you to do so. Be on a look out on who to speak to. Paraventure you are speaking to a negative minded person like Philip, discern and delete the advice and discouraging words and move to someone else. It took God to send Joseph away from home to rescue him from negative minded people in his family who envied his dream, Genesis 37. Avoid negative and discouraging words that can weigh you down from taking positive actions toward your purpose in life. Do away with people who see impossibility, lack of resources, inability in you and move to the next person. It is our responsibility to identify negative minded people and negative responses. Our dreams will die untimely death, our purpose will not be truncated by opposition in Jesus name, Amen. Keep pushing until you see the right person to walk with your dream, and if not, keep your dream to yourself like Joseph did in Egypt, he never spoke to anyone again about his dream until it became reality. If no one sees the possibility in you, keep working on it till it becomes visible.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
