TOPIC: STUDY ON 2 KINGS 4: Whose Servant Are You? (2)

One Year Bible Reading
2 Kings 16 - 17
John 12: 1 - 19

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Tim. 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

BIBLE READING:
2 kings 4:1.
"1. A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves”.

Thinking Point:
Who you serve determines who stands for you in the time of need.

This week, God will grant our desires as we work in line with His will and purpose for our lives in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

When you are a faithful servant you tend to enjoy the reward of service from those whom you serve. Listen to the words of the widow.

“Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD."

This widow went to whom her husband served before his death. Though the man was late, he has a record, he served under someone. He was committed during his lifetime and his family knew he served a man of God. He lived his life to please God through Prophet Elisha and his service, after death, speaks for him. When we talk about service most times we feel service is only in the church but all our life is service. If you are not servicing where you find yourself you are not useful to the world. Service is life, we are all called to serve. Service is the step to leadership. If you don't serve you can't lead. Who are you servicing? Do you have that humility to serve? Are you not all in all? If you need help, who can you turn to as your master? What will speak for you later in life? Jonathan served David by rescuing him from his father's evil plans and his service speaks for Mephibosheth long after Jonathan's death, 2 Samuel 9. Can your service speak for your children after you? The widow knew only one person she could run to for help and that was the man her husband served.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
