"1. And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:"
Thinking Point:
Obedience to instruction is the significant difference between success and failure
This morning, every burden of your heart is lifted off you, every unspeakable weight suppressing you is broken by the power in the name of Jesus, I decree peace over your life in Jesus' precious name, Amen.
Every exploit in life begins with obedience to instruction. Instructions precedes every breakthrough in life. Obedience to God is unnegotiable in any spheres of one's life. When God says, Go, it means, move without checking if you can. When He says, Stop; it means, don't move despite your ideas. Without His leading success is not attained. Everyone God calls He instructs in the way to go. He will always speak because He knows that we don't know the way. When He speaks it may look impossible but obedience is the key to possible. When we refuse to obey His instructions what He says becomes impossible but when we obey it becomes a reality.
Jesus' success in His earthly mission was linked to His obedience to God's leading and instructions. In John 5:30,
"30. I can of mine own self do nothing: AS I HEAR, I JUDGE: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."
Obedience is hearing and acting. Jesus said “... as i hear, I judge" meaning as God instructs me I act, I follow, I decree, I speak. When we are separated from His instructions we become a burden.
God said to the Israelites,
"if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:"
If we will hear and obey then we shall be above the earth. To reign on Earth and in Heaven we need to be obedient to God's instructions. He said to Joshua,
"8. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Joshua 1:8.
That is an instruction for everyone who desires to succeed on earth. Reading the Bible opens us to understanding of God's desires, His will, and the purpose of our existence. Above all Jesus said, if you love me, you will keep my commandment, John 14:15. He is saying, If you love me you will obey my commandment. In other words, disobeying God's word is proof that we don't love Him while obeying Him is proof of our love for Him. This attitude attracts what God has in stock for us. Obedience to His instructions brings us closer to Him daily. I pray this morning, may we be more obedient to Him in all our ways in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
