TOPIC: STUDY ON 2 KINGS 4: CREDITORS, BE MERCIFUL (4)
One Year Bible Reading:
2 Kings 20 - 22
John 13: 1 - 30
MEMORY VERSE:
2 Tim. 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
BIBLE READING:
2 kings 4:1
"1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves”.
Thinking Point:
Creditors, be merciful to your debtors, no position is permanent.
Every reason for shame in our lives will attract the mercy of God. The help of God will stand in for us. Where we are confused of what to do and how to go, today, the wisdom of God will intervene in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
As we continue with our study with the late prophet's widow, she said to Prophet Elisha,
"And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves."
Our focus today is directed to the creditors, lenders who seem to go the extra mile in getting their loan. No position is permanent in life. No stages are constant. It's just a matter of time before God turn things around. Being a debtor today can't stop one from being a lender tomorrow, time and chances happen to us all. Before you became wealthy as you are, you were once depending on others somehow. That you have enough and lend to someone doesn't mean you may not need help from that debtors some other time. Be merciful while dealing with your debtors. Even if the children were used as collateral, you still need to be patient. That you have it today doesn't mean you should frustrate others with it. Helping others costs nothing because it's a seed into the future for those who are wise. As a matter of fact, how you use what you have today goes a long way to determine what you will enjoy from others tomorrow. As a lender, lend out what you can let go do according to the income of our clients, don't just make everything about interest.
The creditor was coming to carry off the widow's two sons as slaves for the repayment of their father's debt. How wicked can this be? Learn to be merciful to your debtors no matter what, nobody desires to be in debt. I wondered how the creditor felt when the woman paid off all her debt after the man of God's instruction. May we not offend God with what He blessed us with in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
I don't know the level of that debt of yours but I pray today, that God who delivered the son of the Prophet's widow will deliver you in Jesus mighty name, Amen. Lenders be merciful with your clients.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
