TOPIC: ATTRIBUTE TO DEVELOP: Diligent Worker (7)

"6. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up."
BIBLE READING:
Romans 12:11.
"11. Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;"
Thinking Point:
Laziness isn't spirituality but disobedience to God's order of life.
May the Lord reward all our efforts, and release His blessings beyond our effort in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
As we round up our study today on the topic 'Attribute To Develop As Christian, we focus on Diligent workers, not being lazy or jobless. God our Father is a worker who has not retired up till date Jesus confirmed it saying,
"17. But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. John 5:17.
Up till date God is still at work with us, in us and for us, so God is a diligent worker. Jesus worked while on earth and encouraged us to work too. Let's follow this verse,
"12. “.... but the Father that dwelleth in me, He Doeth The Works.
13. “..., or ELSE BELIEVE ME FOR THE VERY WORKS' SAKE.
14. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and GREATER WORKS THAN THESE SHALL HE DO; because I go unto my Father."
Jesus gave the complete proof here as God working in Him, He himself is working and we should also work. This is not about ministry and healing work. Every work done in the fear of God is God's work either as a professional, career or ministry. Men are created to work and God made this known by instructing Adam saying,
"15. And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it." Genesis 2:15.
If you have nothing to keep and dress you are disobedient to God. If you have nothing to do as a man or a woman you are a disgrace to God.
Apostle Paul said,
"8. But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel." 1 Timothy 5:8.
A lazy man or woman is a reproach to God. They are likened to an unbelievable. God does not delight in laziness but hard work with smartness. Your work stands and speaks for your blessings. As believers, we have no reason to be idle. Everyone God called are workers. He found them doing one thing or the other. Even Jesus never called idle people to be His disciples but workers on duty. The Lord blesses us while we serve, not while we remain idle. King Solomon said,
"29. Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men." Proverbs 22:29.
God created us to stand before Kings not before slaves and we can only get to this level by working diligently. Bishop Oyedepo said, "If your expectation is not forthcoming, find something else to do but don't be idle" God hates an idle man or woman.
Colossians 3:23, says,
"23. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Find something to do when your profession fails, get other jobs. When the expected is not available make the available the expected to attract God's blessings and be responsible. Developing a mentality of Laziness is not of God.
