Thinking Point:
Courage is the key that propels you to face the danger regardless of your fear.
By the mercy of God today, God is coming to our aid, attending to those private issues devouring us up within like a pest in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
We are discussing ‘Attitude To Develop As Christian’ and our focus today is developing Courage in the race. Believers find it difficult to keep moving in the face of opposition, stumbling wall, criticism, lack of visibility and irrelevance. We tend to withdraw when things don't look like what God promised. Most times we see what is ahead as something we can't handle or face because of those who have gone through that path and never succeeded or struggled to make it. I would like us to know that, whatever is before us we can handle it when we are courageous. God will not allow us to go through what He has not prepared us for.
When Moses was done with rescuing the children of Israel from the Egyptian, God called him home and assigned Joshua to pick up the baton. Joshua saw himself as a young man who is not ready to take up such responsibility. But God kept speaking to him, like, "Since you can hear my voice, and you've been with my servant, Moses, I encourage you to take you up this duty." God had to encourage Joshua three different times after Moses had encouraged him before his departure. Joshua felt he couldn't control the numerous crowd. He felt he couldn't go through what Moses went through but God encouraged him saying,
"6. Be strong and of a good courage: ...
7. Only be thou strong and very courageous, ...
9. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." Joshua 1: 6,7 and 9.
When God speaks we develop the courage ourselves. God won't push us, we are to walk in that encouragement of God. It's our responsibility to respond to that ability God has deposited in us. It is time to stop looking at what others are going through and move with courage. It's time to stop seeing what is presently before us and move on. Until you move courageously nothing moves. God won't push us, He can encourage us, we are we to develop the courage ourselves to progress. Develop courage in that marriage that you can do it. In that trade, you will succeed. In that ministry, you will not fail God. Courage is not the absence of fear but mastering your fear. It's our duty to develop that courage after all encouragement and discouragement from any angle. Develop courage by developing interest in what you are about to do. Be encouraged this morning in the name of Jesus, Amen.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
