TOPIC: ATTRIBUTE TO DEVELOP: Humility To God (1)

John 5: 1 - 30
MEMORY VERSE:
James 4:10.
"6. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up."
BIBLE READING:
2 Chronicles 7:14.
"14. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Thinking Point:
Humility before God is seeing ourselves as nothing without God.
Happy new week to all in the name of Jesus. This week will attract the grace and mercy of God upon us in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
This week we shall be studying "Attribute To Develop As A Christian". We shall be discussing Humility in different ways and we are starting with Humility to God. Humility to God is the sense of being own by God. Seeing God as the giver of everything we have and own. Humility to God simply means, "I am nothing without you." "No me without you Father". Without humility to God no access can be granted to progress because the Bible says,
"4. I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:
5. Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.
6. For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another."
Psalms 75:4-7.
Everyone who lift their horn against God will be brought low for promotion comes from the one who weighs Humility of heart towards Him. He will never lift the pride but lower them. Humility makes Him lifts one up and pride makes Him brings one down, in order words, our humility determines our lifting by God. God is the creator of all and anything or anyone who would take his place will be relegated below for He lifts only the humble, the devil is a good example in Is. 14:2 - 16. Nebuchadnezzar was another example who became an animal for taking the glory of God, Daniel 4:30-37. When we try to take the place of God as the doer of things He humbles us. May we not be humbled by God in Jesus name, Amen.
Anyone who will not humble himself/herself before God can't access answer of prayer from God. Our Bible reading says,
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, ... then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
Before any prayers is presented to God humility before God comes first, without humility we can't access His presence. The Lord said, "... then, will i hear from heaven..."
To enjoy answers of prayer we need to humble ourselves before God daily. How humble are we to God of heaven? It a new week let us guide our mind in humility to God. For promotion to come from above humility need to go from below. Send Him your humility and let Him lift you up.
