TOPIC: STUDY ON 2 KINGS 4: What Do You Have? (6)
One Year Bible Reading:
1 Chronicles 1 - 2
John 14: 15 - 31
MEMORY VERSE:
2 Tim. 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
BIBLE READING:
2 kings 4:2
"2 So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?”
Thinking Point:
When we are blind to God's deposit in us, we are blind to God's discerns for us.
God is not a waste. He is a multiplier. He blesses a thing and not emptiness because nobody is empty. The first second question the prophet asked the widow was? “Tell me, what do you have in the house?” This same question is directed to all of us today. What do you have? Can you identify what you have? Did you know that the deposits of God are inside of you? Until you identify it and work with it, the blessings of God will not rest on it. That's why God said,
"25 “So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you." Ex. 23:25.
Until you identify your uniqueness, serve the Lord with it - bless others with that uniqueness of yours - then will He bless your bread and your water (uniqueness). So, until you identify what you have you might not move forward in life. What you have is what God will bless to move you forward.
The question now is, What do you have that God can bless? What can God multiply in your hands? So, you need to identify what God has placed in your hands to work with, it might be a talent, gift, resource, service, or ministry? Identify what you have for God's lifting. Identifying what God deposited in us is the key to freedom from every obstruction in life.
The widow has a substance, a jar of oil that God can bless but she knows not, she has not been working with it. The widow of Zarephath had a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruise but never knew that it would feed her family and Prophet Elijah for months. Joseph had the interpretation of dreams but never knew it would make him the second in command in Egypt. Isaac could farm but never knew it would be his tool of blessing in the land of famine. David had the gift of using the slings for animals but never knew that’s what God will use, through him, to defeat Goliath. Stop looking down on that difference between you and others. That gift and talent of yours, that specialty of yours, you need God to bless it to get you to your destined place in life with it. Identify it, use it, affect life with it and let the blessing of God rest on it.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
